ABOUT HOMES BY CARLTON
Homes by Carlton is an award-winning regional housebuilder creating exceptional new homes across the North East.
We combine thoughtful design, high-quality craftsmanship and a personal approach to create homes our customers are proud to own and developments that make a positive contribution to their communities.
We're an ambitious, growing business — and we're looking for talented people who want to grow with us.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As our Business Support Administrator, you'll provide professional and proactive support across the business while taking responsibility for a number of important day-to-day processes.
You'll be a key point of contact at our Newton Aycliffe Head Office, providing a warm and professional welcome to visitors and handling incoming calls and general enquiries.
Behind the scenes, you'll help keep our business moving.
You'll maintain accurate records and documentation, coordinate meetings and office administration, support our Land team with new enquiries, work with Commercial on customer extras and subcontractor information, and raise and record purchase orders through our Evolution/ERP systems.
It's a varied role that offers the opportunity to gain broad exposure to how a successful housebuilding business operates.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Your responsibilities will include:
→ Taking responsibility for reception and front desk duties at our Head Office, welcoming visitors and professionally handling incoming calls and general enquiries.
→ Managing incoming post, office supplies, stationery, equipment and general office administration.
→ Maintaining accurate company records, filing systems, documentation and shared-drive information.
→ Preparing and processing business and plot documentation.
→ Coordinating meetings, diaries and calendars and taking meeting minutes where required.
→ Supporting the administration of business insurance renewals and compliance records.
→ Supporting incoming land enquiries and accurately recording information within HubSpot.
→ Raising, processing and recording authorised purchase orders through Evolution and/or our ERP systems in line with company processes.
→ Coordinating the administration of customer extras, including confirming options, checking pricing and information, raising purchase orders and issuing accurate instructions to site teams and subcontractors.
→ Maintaining accurate client extras records and providing supporting information to our Accounts and Commercial teams.
→ Liaising with subcontractors and following up outstanding information and actions.
→ Providing agreed administrative support to Sales and Customer Care and helping maintain continuity during busy periods.
→ Working collaboratively with teams across the business and helping us continually improve our administrative processes and ways of working.
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for a Business Support Administrator who takes genuine pride in being organised, accurate and dependable.
You'll enjoy working in a varied environment, be comfortable dealing with different people and priorities, and have the confidence to take ownership of a task and see it through.
You'll ideally have:
→ Previous experience in administration, business support, office coordination or a similar role.
→ Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
→ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
→ A professional and friendly manner when dealing with customers, visitors, colleagues, suppliers and subcontractors.
→ Confidence managing several priorities and deadlines at the same time.
→ Good numerical skills and confidence checking prices, orders and other detailed information.
→ Experience using Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
→ Confidence using business software and the ability to learn CRM and ERP systems quickly.
→ A proactive approach — you're comfortable chasing outstanding information, spotting discrepancies and asking questions when something doesn't look right.
→ The ability to work independently while being a collaborative member of a wider team.
Experience within housebuilding, construction or property would be beneficial, but isn't essential.
Previous experience with Evolution, HubSpot or similar ERP/CRM systems would also be advantageous.
WHY JOIN HOMES BY CARLTON?
This is an opportunity to become part of an award-winning regional housebuilder at an exciting stage of its growth.
You'll work closely with people across the company and develop a broad understanding of Land, Commercial, Construction, Sales, Customer Care and Finance — giving you an excellent platform to develop your career as the business grows.
We offer:
→ Competitive salary
→ Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
→ A genuinely varied role with exposure to multiple areas of the business
