Meet the Neighbours: Jonny at Thorpe Paddocks


We caught up with Jonny, a new homeowner at one of our developments, Thorpe Paddocks. Jonny loves his new home and couldn't wait to show us around.


Q: What is it like living at Thorpe Paddocks in Thorpe Thewles?

A: Thorpe Thewles has the perfect balance of being a quiet, peaceful village but is also close to local amenities. In a short drive I have a great choice of major supermarkets, bars and restaurants in Norton, Yarm, Stockton and Sedgefield. I also love to ride my bike, so the nearby cycle track that runs for miles is great. It is a fantastic mix that really works for me.

Q: Why did you choose the 4-bedroom Coniston?

A: It is a great looking house!  The ground floor layout works really well for me and my family. The floor-to-ceiling windows really lighten up the living room and master bedroom, but the kitchen/diner stretching across the entire back of the house really sold it for me!


Q: Have you met any of the neighbours yet?

A: Yes I have met a few of them already and they all seem lovely. We are lucky to have the local pub right on our doorstep, so we are talking about forming a team for the pub quiz night!

Q: What is your favourite part of your new home and why?

A: The kitchen/diner most definitely has the wow factor and when I am giving the guided tour to friends and family, it is without doubt the most popular room. It is great for entertaining and I especially love the large sliding doors overlooking the three-tiered garden. 


Q: How did you find out about Homes by Carlton?

A: It was purely by chance - I wasn't even looking to move house! I was on my way to meet some friends for lunch and the sat nav took me straight past the new development. I stopped to take a look around and loved the design of the houses. I made a showhome appointment the next day!


Q: How was the overall customer journey with Homes by Carlton?

A: From start to finish it has been superb. The sales team have helped every step of the way, from the assisted move process to reservations and options, and then handover day. The build team have been brilliant with a fantastic home demo and have answered all my questions.

Q: How did you find post-handover and Customer Care service?

A: All new homes develop customer care queries at the start, often as the houses "settle". I reported the items to the Customer Care team, who called me to book an appointment the next day.


Q: Would you recommend Homes by Carlton to friends and family?

A: I already have quite a few times! I have set up an Instagram page for my new home - plot16tp - and I have been asked a lot of questions about my new home and if I would recommend Homes by Carlton... and 100% I would!
