We are looking for an experienced and passionate Architectural Technician/Architectural Design Manager to join our talented, growing team.

With an ambitious growth plan and a commitment to excellence, we're looking for a dedicated and experienced Architectural Technician/Architectural Design Manager to join our team.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Architectural Technician/Architectural Design Manager, you’ll be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and construction information to support our residential projects from concept through to completion. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will work closely with our planning, design and construction teams to ensure that every home we build is delivered to the highest technical and design standards.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Work closely with the Technical Director on the control and management of the House Type Portfolio, including product development in respect of new designs.

→ Produce ‘in-house’ detailed design working drawings.
Commission and manage Consultant appointments.
Produce standard detail drawings, including foundation/substructures.

→ Produce and control Build Specifications for developments, including ongoing research and development, and updates responsive to legislative changes and/or issues in-build.

Submit and manage Building Control Applications, including liaison in build and discharge of all conditions.
Check and sign-off all site-specific 3rd party designs via Commercial, in respect of central heating designs, roof trusses, joist plans, stair designs and kitchen layouts.
Register Robust Details Applications and issue to Building Control/Construction Team.

→ Preparation of Tender Packs and Construction Site Packs.

Provide technical support and advice to all departments.

Liaise closely with Land, Construction, Commercial and Sales Departments to ensure delivery of projects on time and in budget.

→ Comply with the CDM & Building Safety Act requirements under the Principal Designer Roles.

 

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

 HNC/HND or degree in Architectural Technology or related discipline

→ Strong technical knowledge of UK residential construction methods

→ Proficient in AutoCAD

→ Thorough understanding or Building Regulations, NHBC and planning processes

→ Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

→ Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

→ Previous experience within a housebuilder, architectural practice or similar environment

 

Desirable:

→ Experience with Revit and 3D visualisation software
