How good are the transport links from our new homes in Thorpe Thewles?

Thorpe Thewles is the charming village that is home to Thorpe Paddocks, our exclusive development of 31 new build homes. This homely village provides beautiful views and surroundings, many local amenities and - importantly - excellent transport links.

At Thorpe Paddocks, you have the ability to live in a stunning rural environment whilst also being able to travel efficiently, with the A177 located just off the village. Despite being within close proximity to a widely used travel link, you can still experience true tranquillity in our private collection of 31 executive homes. The countryside surroundings are completely peaceful and make Thorpe Thewles the perfect North East destination to unwind and spend quality time with loved ones.

Whether you need to commute to your workplace or drop the kids off at school, the local road links make these tasks so much easier. Approximately halfway between Sedgefield and the large market town of Stockton-on-Tees, Thorpe Thewles is perfectly placed. Various schools, colleges and nurseries are situated in these towns or in smaller villages nearby, ideal for families living in Thorpe Thewles. Travelling to these locations is not a problem, with the efficient road links and practical bus routes dotted in and around the village.

On a wider scale, the large regional and national transport links that the A177 leads to from just outside Thorpe Thewles include the likes of the A689, the A66 (which runs through Middlesbrough and leads all the way to the Lake District), the A19 and the A1(M), which stretches right down to South Yorkshire and upwards to Newcastle. All of these fantastic links make it possible for you to travel nationwide with maximum efficiency from the moment you leave your home.

And of course, some of the main benefits of having major, well-connected motorways in your area include the possibility of going on a holiday within this country, something that’s increased in popularity hugely due to the foreign travel restrictions as a result of Covid-19.

Cosy cottages, beach houses, log cabins, luxurious hotels and campsites -  the options are endless for unforgettable holidays in the UK. Some of the country’s finest staycation destinations consist of Bamburgh, Sandsend, the Scottish Highlands and its stunning castles, Grantley Hall, the Lake District and Aysgarth Falls - all of which can be readily accessed from Thorpe Thewles. You can even be on the A1(M) and start a trip to London in a matter of minutes from our Thorpe Thewles homes!

Another benefit is that your daily commute can become tremendously easier and quicker. Some rural locations require a journey down seemingly endless single-track lanes that are difficult to navigate and hard for larger vehicles to travel through. Thorpe Thewles offers the perfect country lifestyle and peace, with the addition of majorly practical road links found just outside of the village. Your morning commute instantly becomes much smoother due to these fantastic transport links, wherever you're headed!

Furthermore, village life can often bring with it the belief you’re isolated from supermarkets and shops, but Thorpe Thewles doesn’t suffer from this in any way, shape or form. Stockton-on-Tees is just a 10-minute drive away, perfect for the weekly shop or a last minute trip out to grab something you need. Plus, Sedgefield, Yarm, Middlesbrough and Darlington provide numerous shops that you may need all within a 15-mile radius.

The location of Thorpe Thewles is simply fantastic; practical yet beautiful, a stunning village to relocate to and no matter where you work or want to travel to, the travel links here are ideal and ensure you can take the most efficient routes to wherever you need to be.
